A strict, Christ-centered regimen — built for real change
Every resident at House of Debra follows the same structured framework: worship, study, counsel, community, and labor. Nothing here is optional — structure is the soil recovery grows in.
Church Services
Residents attend regular church services as a household, anchoring the week in corporate worship, preaching of the Word, and prayer. Sunday gatherings and mid-week services keep Christ — not the program — at the center of every resident's week.
Bible Study
Daily, structured Bible study moves residents through Scripture systematically — building biblical literacy, renewing the mind (Romans 12:2), and replacing old thought patterns with truth. Group and individual study time is part of the daily regimen.
Christian Counseling
One-on-one biblical counseling addresses the roots beneath the addiction — trauma, shame, broken family relationships, and spiritual wounds — with Scripture and godly wisdom, not just behavioral technique.
Christian Support Groups
Peer-led support groups give residents a place to confess honestly, encourage one another, and walk out recovery together — brothers and sisters bearing one another's burdens (Galatians 6:2).
Farm & Animal Duties
Every resident shares responsibility for planting, harvesting, and tending the vegetable gardens, as well as the daily care of farm animals. Real, physical work restores routine, responsibility, and dignity. See farm life in detail →
House Discipline & Accountability
A fixed daily schedule, house rules, mentorship from staff, and consistent accountability give residents the external structure many never had — until internal discipline takes root.
A Sample Day at House of Debra
Every house finalizes its own schedule with residents during intake. Here's an illustrative example of the daily rhythm new residents can expect.
Early Morning
Rise, personal devotion, and morning chores including animal feeding.
Mid-Morning
Group Bible study and structured teaching time.
Afternoon
Farm duties — planting, weeding, harvesting, and facility upkeep.
Evening
Christian support group, counseling sessions, or church service, followed by reflection and rest.
What we ask of every resident
Full Participation

Shared Labor
Every resident takes a rotating role in farm, garden, and animal duties as part of daily house responsibility.
Sobriety & Honesty
A zero-tolerance approach to substances, paired with a culture of confession, grace, and accountability rather than shame.
